Silesian Voivodeship Brings Back the Blue and Inspires Action

How can air quality be improved effectively? How can the energy efficiency of buildings be increased? How should we talk to children and young people about the environment? Where can local governments, public institutions, community organizations, and residents find reliable solutions?

Answers to these questions can be found at the mobile educational and information exhibition of the project “Silesia. Blue Sky Restored”, which will travel across Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, presenting the most interesting experiences, solutions, and materials developed within one of the largest environmental projects implemented in Europe.

Why Do We Share Good Practices?

Environmental and energy-related transformations do not happen through investments alone. Their long-term success depends primarily on the knowledge, awareness, and engagement of residents, local governments, and institutions. That is why, throughout the implementation of the project, we have developed a comprehensive collection of educational materials, guides, publications, and tools that support informed decision-making in the areas of air quality improvement, energy efficiency, and sustainable development.

The mobile exhibition demonstrates that effective action is possible regardless of the size of a municipality, the type of building, or the level of available financial resources. We present solutions that have been tested in practice and can serve as inspiration for other communities, institutions, and residents.

Knowledge for Residents, Local Governments and Organizations

As part of the project, we have developed a wide range of materials tailored to different target groups.

For Residents

We show how to:

  • reduce energy losses in buildings,
  • improve living comfort while lowering operating costs,
  • take everyday actions that contribute to better air quality,
  • benefit from available support programs and grants.

For Local Governments and Public Institutions

We provide guidance on:

  • planning environmentally friendly investments,
  • improving the energy efficiency of public buildings,
  • preparing and implementing green infrastructure projects,
  • using modern energy and environmental solutions.

Our recommendations cover public administration buildings, municipal facilities, cultural institutions, and educational establishments.

For Building Owners and Property Managers

We have prepared practical guidelines showing how to assess a building’s energy performance. This makes it possible to identify which modernization measures will deliver the greatest benefits and determine the optimal order for their implementation.

We also present solutions tailored to the specific needs of historic buildings, where improvements in energy efficiency must be balanced with the preservation of cultural heritage.

For Teachers and Educators

Special guides and educational materials have been developed to help discuss topics such as:

  • the natural environment,
  • air quality,
  • responsibility for shared spaces,
  • climate change,
  • everyday choices that affect our surroundings.

Ready-to-use lesson plans and educational resources enable teachers to easily incorporate environmental topics into both school and extracurricular activities.

A Changing Silesia

Our educational and informational materials also showcase how the Silesian Voivodeship has transformed over recent years. We present examples of green investments, revitalization projects, and environmental initiatives that not only improve residents’ quality of life but also enhance the region’s tourism potential.

It is the story of a region in transition, increasingly associated not only with industry but also with modern environmental solutions, green infrastructure, and care for shared public spaces.

Use Our Resources and Inspire Others

The exhibition is an invitation to make use of the knowledge gathered within the “Silesia. Blue Sky Restored” project. All materials developed under the project are intended to serve residents, local governments, schools, community organizations, and everyone interested in improving quality of life and protecting the environment.

They offer ready-to-use solutions, practical recommendations, and proven good practices that can be adapted and implemented locally.

Stay Up to Date

Every day we publish educational materials, guides, videos, animations, expert interviews, and examples of good practices related to air protection and sustainable development.
