Zabrze Celebrates its 102nd Birthday with the Eco-Picnic "Eko-Skarbnikowe Gody"

On September 27, 2024, in celebration of Zabrze's 102nd birthday, the city organized a special event for students and residents—an eco-picnic under the theme "Eko-Skarbnikowe Gody." This educational initiative, held in the City Park, aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage the local community to take care of the natural environment.
During the event, participants had the opportunity to gain knowledge in environmental protection, covering key topics such as air and water conservation, waste segregation, and biodiversity. Jolanta Błaszczak, Zabrze’s eco-manager, who played a crucial role in organizing the event, led a series of educational and ecological activities along with a team of animators. The workshops, contests, games, and activities provided not only valuable learning experiences but also great entertainment for both children and adults.
The picnic also featured lectures and multimedia presentations, with one of the biggest attractions being a demonstration of a garbage truck, which visually illustrated the process of waste segregation and collection. The goal of the event was to make Zabrze's residents aware of the importance of caring for the environment and how each of us can contribute to its protection through our everyday actions.
During the event, the eco-manager introduced participants to concepts related to recycling and waste segregation, explaining the benefits of their proper implementation. Additionally, residents of Zabrze were informed about available funding options for pro-ecological investments, which can support efforts to protect the environment, such as home modernization, installation of eco-friendly heating systems, or investments in renewable energy sources.
The "Eko-Skarbnikowe Gody" also offered various attractions and gifts for participants. Children had the chance to enjoy special inflatable attractions, which provided them with plenty of joy and active recreation. There were also contests with attractive prizes for all, and each participant could receive small gifts as a pleasant memento of the event.
"Eko-Skarbnikowe Gody" is an initiative that combined education with entertainment, making Zabrze's residents more aware of the importance of caring for the natural environment. The event provided an excellent opportunity for learning, community integration, and active time spent outdoors. Thanks to such actions, Zabrze not only celebrates its anniversary but also builds a future in harmony with nature.
