On February 13, the Youth Climate Conference "Gliwice - City of Positive Energy" took place, organized by the IV Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Orląt Lwowskich in Gliwice. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Gliwice, Katarzyna Kuczyńska-Budka, the Silesian School Superintendent, and the Minister of Industry. The conference also received support from renowned institutions such as the Silesian University of Technology, the Łukasiewicz Institutes, and the Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw.

The conference was a summary of the project "How to Reduce the Planet's Fever," in which high school students participated from September of the previous year to January of the current year. During this time, they attended numerous lectures and laboratory studies, gaining knowledge about the impact of atmospheric dust on health, renewable energy sources, and methods of water purification. The project not only increased students' environmental awareness but also engaged them in practical research and analyses related to environmental protection.

One of the key elements of the conference was a series of interviews with individuals responsible for environmental protection in Gliwice. Participants had the opportunity to hear from experts and ask questions about the challenges and solutions in climate protection at the local level. As part of this session, Gliwice’s eco-manager, Katarzyna Raszkowska, gave an interview, which was presented during the event. Her statements provided valuable insights into the city’s efforts to improve air quality and reduce pollution emissions.

The Youth Climate Conference in Gliwice highlighted the crucial role of environmental education and social engagement in combating climate change. Thanks to the collaboration between schools, scientific institutions, and experts, participants gained knowledge that can be translated into real actions for environmental protection. This event demonstrated that young people have a tangible impact on the future of our planet and are ready to take action to safeguard it.
