We're Greening the Yards in Mszana.

On the occasion of this year's 50th Anniversary of the Municipality of Mszana in its current administrative form, and as part of the integrated LIFE project "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored", eco-manager Monika Guzy-Woźnicka organized a jubilee competition called "We're Greening the Yards for the Next 50 Years."
The main objectives of the competition were to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Municipality of Mszana in its current administrative form, promote pro-ecological attitudes among the local community, and raise awareness about the municipality and the "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored" project. At the same time, the competition served as a significant effort to improve air quality in the municipality.
The competition took place from May 5th to July 15th, 2023. As part of the competition, 50 maple trees were distributed, which will be planted in the gardens of the residents, contributing to citizens' active involvement in improving air quality in the municipality.
To participate in the competition, the residents had to submit a justification for why planting a tree on their property is valuable and why greenery in the municipality is essential. They were also required to send photos of the plantings.
The ceremonial distribution of trees took place on July 19th, 2023, in the Active Recreation Park in Mszana. The maples were handed out by the municipal eco-manager Monika Guzy-Woźnicka.
This initiative aligns with the objectives and actions of the "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored" project, which aims to increase green areas in urban spaces and promote pro-ecological attitudes.
As part of the project, four areas will also be selected for the implementation of demonstration projects related to adapting difficult or degraded terrain. These projects will address climate change adaptation and promote biodiversity development.
