Meeting with representatives of the European Commission
On February 15-16, there was a "Welcome Meeting" of representatives of the European Commission with representatives of all 11 new projects implemented under the integrated LIFE Program of the European Union in 11 countries.
The hosts of the online meeting were representatives of the European Executive Agency for Climate, Infrastructure and Environment (CINEA), including Director Dirk Beckers, Giulia Carboni, Angelo Salsi, Patrick Child, Clara de la Torre, Maja Mikosinska, Lorenzina Bruno, Anita Prtenjaca, Peter Mecko, Maria Marisa Sanchez Bellerin.
The European Commission has announced that it will invest over € 110 million in the integrated projects under the LIFE Environment and Climate Program, selected under the 2020 call for proposals. The funds are intended to support new major environmental and climate projects in 11 EU countries (Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Slovenia).
"When it comes to the climate, biodiversity and pollution crisis, we have no time to waste. The LIFE program provides direct support to projects across the EU and enables nature conservation and restoration in entire countries and regions. Nature is our greatest ally - we need to care for it. take care so that she can also take care of us. Congratulations to everyone involved in the projects selected today, stressed Frans Timmermans Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Department of Regional Projects at the Marshal's Office, Agnieszka Potkańska-Ćwikła. She presented the project "Śląskie. Blue sky", led by the Śląskie Voivodeship. Poland was also represented by Barbara Kubiak, Deputy Director of the Department of Regional Projects and Damian Olma, project manager.
Projekt zintegrowany LIFE "Śląskie. Przywracamy błękit". Kompleksowa realizacja programu ochrony powietrza dla województwa śląskiego realizowany jest przy dofinansowaniu z Programu LIFE Unii Europejskiej oraz Narodowego Funduszu Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej.
