The 2nd Silesian Regional Round Table

On March 2, 2023, at the Central Mining Institute in Katowice, as part of the 2nd Silesian Regional Round Table, a meeting on financing energy efficiency improvement was held.

In the plenary session, the speeches concerned consulting for the transforming region, European Funds for Silesia, financing investments contributing to the improvement of energy efficiency, as well as financial instruments of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.

After the break, a session was held on technical advice and substantive support for investors in obtaining financing as well as preparation and implementation of investments supporting the improvement of energy efficiency at various stages of implementation.

In this part, the manager of the LIFE integrated project "Silesia. Blue sky restored” – Mr. Damian Olma presented the assumptions of the project in detail, discussed the activities of eco-managers, the process of their employment, activity during the first year of work, focusing on meetings and events organized by them, advice and assistance provided to residents, distributed educational and information materials, the use of media in their work, conducted inspections of waste incineration, as well as prepared applications for co-financing works that improve the energy efficiency of buildings. Mr. Olma also presented interesting initiatives and local activities of eco-managers and the process of improving their competences. In turn, an employee of the project “Silesia. Blue sky restored” – Mr. Marek Skrok from the Beskid Agglomeration.

During the panel in question, technical advice as part of One Stop Shop, substantive support for the STOP Smog and ELENA projects, as well as Energy Consulting conducted as part of WFOŚIGW were also discussed.

The participants of the meeting agreed that energy consulting is an extremely important aspect of raising social awareness in the field of climate protection, and bottom-up activities, as is the case with the eco-managers of the project "Silesia. Blue sky restored”, which allows for providing advisory support to every inhabitant of the commune, which is supported not only by on-site, telephone and online advice, but also by field work.
