Specialized Drone for the Municipality of Kroczyce

The Municipality of Kroczyce participated in the "Anti-Smog Initiative" competition organized as part of the Marshal's Program for Improving Air Quality. The competition was aimed at municipalities in the Silesian Voivodeship. After receiving a positive evaluation, the Municipality secured funds to purchase a specialized drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera and sensors for analyzing chimney emissions.

The drone is equipped with a special sensor for inhaling air, recording all hazardous substances. It allows for precisely pinpointing the source of pollution. In addition to monitoring air quality and pollutant emissions, the drone also features a visual and thermal imaging camera. The thermal imaging capability proves useful for inspecting buildings and can be utilized, for example, in search and rescue operations for missing persons.

The sensors installed in the drone have a broad application in various fields, from energy efficiency and heating engineering to building inspections and environmental protection (including registering hazardous waste with information about its characteristics and degree of danger).

The project under the "Anti-Smog Initiative" also includes training for municipal employees, including eco-managers. Staff members underwent a series of intensive theoretical and practical training sessions, culminating in a final exam. Based on this exam, they obtained qualifications granted by the Civil Aviation Authority, allowing them to operate in airspace.

This is an example of how modern technologies can support municipal efforts in detecting illegal waste incineration, improving air quality, and implementing more environmentally friendly solutions.
