"Snufkin’s Day" at the Silesian Botanical Garden
May 18, 2024, was celebrated as "Snufkin’s Day." The Silesian Botanical Garden in Mikołów organized an event for everyone who can't sit still and loves to go wherever their eyes take them.
The program included, among others: a field game, creative and herbal workshops, tree-related activities for children conducted in the trees, a family play zone, beekeeping workshops, workshops on planting and caring for plants, a meeting with biologist Adam Zbyryt, and an organic food fair.
Participants enjoyed many additional attractions, including an educational stand for the integrated LIFE project "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored." There were numerous discussions about air quality, health, food, and the future.
Discussions covered the necessity of replacing heat sources, funding for building modernization, and the maintenance of green areas, including home gardens. A large ecological-themed board game was very popular. Both young and old were also interested in the possibility of growing mini flower meadows. Enthusiastic participants received seeds for plants that attract butterflies and bees, as well as honey plants.
Most importantly, everyone had the opportunity to relax in the greenery, highlighting the importance of taking care of all aspects of the natural environment.
