"Silesian Local Governments for the Blue Sky" on the occasion of International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies.
September 7th marks the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, established by the United Nations in 2019. To commemorate this day, a meeting of local government officials from the Silesian Voivodeship was held at the Silesian Museum in Katowice under the banner "Silesian Local Governments for the Blue Sky."
The event was attended by Jakub Chełstowski, the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, and Krzysztof Klimosz, a Member of the Board. Mayors and heads of 80 municipalities and cities that are Partners in the integrated LIFE project "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored " also participated in the event.
Marshal Jakub Chełstowski presented the actions of the Silesian Voivodeship to improve air quality, while Board Member Krzysztof Klimosz showcased the progress in the "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored " project, with a special focus on investment activities.
During the meeting, an agreement was signed with APA Sp. z o.o. for monitoring the energy efficiency of 27 public utility buildings.
Anna Bogusz, Deputy Director of the Department of Environmental Protection, Ecology, and Environmental Charges at the Silesian Voivodeship Self-Government, and Proxy of the Marshal for Climate and Environmental Strategy, discussed the tools available to the Silesian Voivodeship to support air quality improvement in municipalities.
Wioletta Dobras from the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice presented the sources of financing for municipal pro-environmental investments and activities.
Michał Wasilewski, CEO of Aplan Media agency, outlined the objectives of the educational and informational campaign "Taking Air under Our Wings." Simultaneously, this marked the official launch of the campaign throughout the entire voivodeship.
Local government leaders placed symbolic signatures on a display showcasing all the Partners of the "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored " project.
The event was accompanied by a photo exhibition highlighting the most intriguing pro-environmental investments by local governments in the Silesian Voivodeship.
All participants had the opportunity to take part in a group photo as a memento.
This gathering was another meeting of representatives from the most active local governments in the voivodeship as part of the "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored" project.
