At the Secondary School Complex (Zespół Szkół Ponadpodstawowych) in Gorzyce, young people demonstrate that caring for the environment is not only a responsibility but also a passion. The School Anti-Smog Team, supervised by Sara Makoś, an eco-manager for the Gorzyce municipality, along with school teachers, involves students in innovative forms of education and activities. These initiatives not only increase ecological awareness but also inspire active involvement towards cleaner air and a healthier environment.

Natural Science Marathon – Learning Through Play

One of the special events organized by the Team was the Natural Science Marathon. Students faced the challenge of finding a secret code to unlock boxes containing surprises. However, this wasn't an ordinary puzzle – the entire game was structured as an escape room dedicated to the issue of smog. This approach allowed young people to gain knowledge about air quality in an engaging and interactive manner.

Insects – Small Heroes of Nature

During ecological lessons, students explored the fascinating world of insects, particularly their role as pollinators. Through educational games and interactive exercises, participants learned about various insect species and their impact on ecosystems. This approach enabled students to better understand the importance of biodiversity conservation and ecological actions.

From Air to Water – Everything is Connected

The students' ecological awareness extends beyond air quality; they recognize that atmospheric conditions directly impact water and other environmental elements. As part of their classes, students created models of the water cycle and experimented with water purification filters. Combining theory with practical experience helped them better comprehend natural processes and the importance of protecting water resources.

The World Under a Microscope – Inspiration for Future Discoveries

One of the most exciting parts of the classes was the opportunity to explore the microscopic world using microscopes. Students enthusiastically discovered structures invisible to the naked eye, sparking their interest in natural sciences. Who knows – perhaps among the participants of these classes are future biologists, ecologists, or scientists?

Collaboration and Commitment – Key to Success

The activities of the School Anti-Smog Team at ZSP Gorzyce demonstrate that environmental education can be fascinating, and teamwork leads to remarkable results. Students not only learn about the environment but also develop teamwork and creative problem-solving skills.

Congratulations to the entire team for their wonderful initiatives and commitment!
