Piekary Śląskie Under the Blue Sky

On August 11, 2024, the Liberation Mound in Piekary Śląskie became the site where entire families could participate in a unique eco-friendly family picnic, "Under the Blue Sky of Piekary Śląskie." The event attracted many residents who spent the day outdoors, enjoying a rich program full of educational and entertaining activities.

During the picnic, residents had the opportunity to receive advice from Piotr Policht, an eco-manager for the "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored" project. The booth where he provided information was an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge about building thermomodernization, heating source replacement, and other actions aimed at improving comfort and living economy. The eco-manager also answered questions about funding such investments, which garnered significant interest from the participants.

Another highly popular spot was the information booth for the Marshal's Participatory Budget. Justyna Pawłowska and Katarzyna Borysik provided information on how the Budget functions and how funds are allocated. They explained the opportunities for participation and encouraged active involvement in submitting and voting on projects, including those proposed by the Piekary Śląskie community. For the youngest attendees, the booth offered games, activities, and contests.

The mobile experimental laboratory led by Cezary Olchawa also drew a lot of attention. The chemical demonstrations, full of spectacular effects, attracted crowds of curious participants. Each experiment not only provided visual excitement but also educated, showing how science can be a fascinating adventure. This was one of the most energizing attractions of the day.

One of the key highlights of the program was the outdoor play "The Great Adventure of the Little Cloud," prepared by the Krakow Promotion Office. This eco-friendly theater for children turned out to be an exceptional experience. The children eagerly followed the adventures of Little Cloud and Hedgehog Jerzyk as they journeyed across the Earth, discovering the secrets of environmental protection. The play provided not only entertainment but also educated the youngest, conveying an important message about caring for our planet. Thanks to the interactive nature of the performance, children could actively participate, making this part of the picnic even more engaging.

Children also enjoyed many other attractions, including inflatable structures, which were perfect for play and letting off steam. Jumping, sliding, and joyful shouts filled the air, while parents had the chance to relax and watch their children play.

Additional entertainment was provided by the physical activities organized by the AleeFrajda team. Races and movement games brought the children plenty of joy and exercise, eliminating any boredom. The animators were infectious with their optimism.

The successful picnic was organized by the Silesian Voivodeship, which, as part of the LIFE project "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored," ensured everything went according to plan. Piotr Policht, the eco-manager for the Piekary Śląskie Municipality, and Jakub Drabik from Aplan Media agency oversaw the entire event, taking care of every detail so that participants could enjoy a day full of attractions.

The family eco-picnic "Under the Blue Sky of Piekary Śląskie" turned out to be an excellent opportunity to spend time with family, have fun outdoors, and gain valuable information about environmental protection.
