Meeting of LIFE Program Beneficiaries

On June 28, representatives of the "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored" project participated in a meeting for beneficiaries of the LIFE Program in Poland entitled "LIFE Projects Protect Climate and Environment: Sustainable Initiatives for a Better Future."

The conference was opened by Dr. Eng. Krystian Szczepański, Director of the Institute of Environmental Protection - National Research Institute, and Mr. Sławomir Mazurek, Deputy President of the Management Board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

One of the speakers was Ms. Karolina Wądołowska from the LIFE Department at the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, who presented participants with changes and new regulations in the LIFE Program.

During the meeting, Prof. Zbigniew Karaczun, the external monitoring team (ELMEN) for LIFE projects, was also present. Professor Karaczun discussed the latest changes in the way LIFE projects are monitored.

An important part of the meeting was the presentation of LIFE projects. The results, finances, problems, and solutions related to project implementation were presented, including:

The official part of the meeting concluded with workshops and discussions at thematic tables on climate, environment, monitoring, and finances.

The meeting was an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences related to the implementation of integrated LIFE projects and to establish cooperation.
