Information Day for the LIFE Programme of the European Union

The 30th anniversary of the LIFE Programme
On June 14, the Information Day of the European Union LIFE Programme was held in Warsaw, organized by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
The event was held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the LIFE Programme.
The conferences and substantive presentations were accompanied by stands of LIFE program beneficiaries from all over Poland.
Two LIFE projects were presented at the stand of the Sielsian Voivodeship: "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored” Comprehensive implementation of the Air Protection Program for the Silesian Voivodeship and “IP LIFE for the Adaptation of Post-Mining Areas" implemented with the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic.
The conference was initiated by Paweł Mirowski, Deputy President of the Management Board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, who officially announced the new call for proposals in the LIFE Program and invited to cooperation.
The speech of the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński, concerned the role of LIFE projects in the lives of Poles, the impact on the quality of their lives, and objectives shared with the policy of state and local government administration. He emphasized the importance of projects related to the improvement of air quality, including the role of the activities of the Silesian Voivodeship.
Maja Mikosińska, Nature Sector Manager at the European Executive Agency for Climate, Infrastructure and Environment (CINEA) presented the EU policy on nature, biodiversity and climate action. She also summarized the call for proposals last year and introduced them to the 2022 call for the LIFE Program.
In the film addressed to the participants, Angelo Salsi, Director of the CIP LIFE and Eco-innovation Department at CINEA, talked about 30 years of introducing green ideas in the European Union.
Andrzej Muter, Head of the LIFE Department at the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, presented the forms of support for this institution for the current and future beneficiaries of the LIFE Programme.
In the second part of the meeting, a discussion panel was held, attended by LIFE program beneficiaries with different experience in project implementation.
A very important part of the event was the opportunity to meet representatives of several LIFE projects, exchange experiences and find platforms for cooperation between projects
