Free online webinar "Low emissions - threats and challenges"

Does "low" always mean "harmless"? What is Low Emission? To be afraid or rather to be happy?
Low emission is the emission of dust and harmful gases at low altitudes (up to 40m), mainly from domestic stoves and local boiler houses, in which the combustion of coal or other solid fuels is ineffective, and in addition, waste is used as "fuel". It is particularly troublesome during the heating season.
The phenomenon of low emissions is also related to transport and occurs in places where there is a lot of vehicle traffic in a small area (this problem especially concerns city traffic).
Low emission causes the appearance of many harmful substances in the air, e.g. suspended dust, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, heavy metals or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These substances cause various diseases of the circulatory and respiratory systems as well as allergies. They also increase the risk of cancer. In the area affected by the problem of low emissions, soil poisoning, plant contamination, corrosion of metal and construction elements occur.
The topic of low emissions and related challenges will be discussed at the online webinar organized by the Częstochowa University of Technology and the Częstochowa Smog Alarm.
During the webinar, Dominika Bukalak-Gaik, eco-manager of the Northern Subregion of the Silesian Voivodeship in the project “Silesia. Blue Sky Restored”, will tell you who the eco-manager is and what is his/hers role. It is worth finding out about the benefits for each resident of cooperation with an eco-manager in his commune.
The program also includes other topics that we highly recommend:
- “Clean Air Program” - for whom?, for what? and how much to obtain? - Maciej Buchliński, Town Hall in Węczyca Wielka
- The air condition in the region - what has changed in the last five years. - Hubert Pietrzak, Częstochowa Smog Alarm
- Are renewable energy sources the only and easiest way to reduce low emissions? - dr hab. Eng. Rafał Kobyłecki, Częstochowa University of Technology
- "Renewable energy sources" - a new field of study. - dr hab. eng. Jurand Bień, Częstochowa University of Technology
There will also be time for a question and answer session.
