Ecology, Theatre and Family Fun – Children’s Day in Gorzyce with the LIFE Project

On 30 May, the outdoor space at the Cultural Centre in Gorzyce turned into a vibrant area filled with children’s laughter, family joy and... ecology. The event, organised in cooperation with the LIFE project “Silesia. Blue Sky Restored,” brought together local residents and demonstrated that environmental education can go hand in hand with great entertainment.
A Play That Entertains and Educates
A highlight of the day was the performance of “Zoo Escape” – a colourful, humorous and thought-provoking theatrical piece focused on environmental protection and clean air. Children followed the adventures of animal characters and learned why clean air matters not only for humans but for all life on Earth. The theatrical form proved to be an effective and engaging educational tool.
Eco-Zone Full of Knowledge and Prizes
In the specially designed Eco-Zone, visitors enjoyed various attractions – environmental contests with prizes, quizzes for the youngest, and expert advice from eco-manager Sara Makoś. Adults had the chance to learn more about energy-saving solutions for the home, ways to improve air quality, and available subsidies under the “Clean Air” programme.
A Family Event with a Purpose
Children’s Day in Gorzyce was a perfect example of how to combine education with local community engagement. Outdoor fun, activities that built environmental awareness, and a joyful atmosphere created a truly meaningful event. Thanks to the presence of the eco-manager and support from the LIFE project, the celebration delivered both enjoyment and a powerful ecological message for children and their families.
