Ecological inspirations during the Jeleśnia Days

The 40th Jeleśnia Commune Days ended with a colorful celebration filled with concerts, games, and family attractions. Among the many highlights of the program, the stand of the Intercommunal Association for Ecology in Żywiec, run by eco-manager Beata Ligocka, stood out. It was here that ecology met the daily lives of residents, and knowledge about clean air and modern solutions for homes was presented in an accessible, practical way.

Three days of celebration in Jeleśnia created an excellent opportunity to combine fun with learning. The eco-manager prepared ecological workshops for the youngest participants, which quickly became one of the most popular points of the event. Children eagerly took on quiz challenges, solved crosswords and puzzles, and the youngest enthusiastically colored pictures related to air protection and waste segregation. Thanks to this, ecology ceased to be an abstract concept and became a colorful adventure that children could experience together with their peers.

The atmosphere at the stand also favored adults. While the children were engaged in riddles, parents and guardians could take the opportunity to talk with Beata Ligocka. The conversations touched on crucial topics: the anti-smog resolution, possibilities of replacing non-ecological heating sources, building thermal modernization, renewable energy technologies, and available funding sources. The eco-manager answered questions, explained the details of support programs, and encouraged the use of available subsidies. Each interested person received leaflets and information materials about the “Silesia. Blue Sky Restored” program, as well as an invitation to further contact with the eco-manager at ZMGE Żywiec.

Beata Ligocka’s commitment ensured that the ecological dimension of the event was not limited to slogans and leaflets but gained real, practical importance. Her stand became a meeting and dialogue space where generations came together – children learned through play, and adults gained knowledge on how to introduce ecological changes in their homes. This synergy of education and dialogue highlighted that caring for clean air is a shared responsibility of the entire community.

The jubilee Jeleśnia Days abounded with attractions – from concerts and sports competitions to games for the youngest and unique telescope shows as part of the Dark Sky Festival. Within this rich program, Beata Ligocka’s stand stood out as something special: it reminded everyone that celebration can go hand in hand with education, and care for the natural environment begins with small steps each of us can take.
