Ecological Education in Siemianowice Śląskie

What are the sources of smog, what impact does it have on our health and the environment, and how can we effectively counteract this phenomenon? These are just some of the topics that were addressed during educational sessions conducted by our eco-advisor on December 13, 2023, at Władysław Broniewski Primary School No. 20 in Siemianowice Śląskie.
In the first part of the sessions, the main focus was on smog and air pollution. Students actively participated in the presentation, engaging in discussions with the facilitator and deepening their understanding of the importance of air quality. They also learned practical ways to improve air quality. Additionally, an experiment illustrated how smoke accumulates in the atmosphere, aiding students in better understanding the discussed issues.
The second part of the sessions was even more interactive. Students had the opportunity to tackle various tasks related to the session's theme, such as crosswords, puzzles, and other creative brain teasers. Furthermore, the facilitator demonstrated how everyone can independently monitor air quality using a mobile application or an online portal, empowering students to decide whether it's worth going for an evening walk or better to stay indoors.
