Eco-workshops for preschoolers from the Kroczyce

Kindergartens are places where children spend most of the day and thanks to this, they get to know the world and learn how to function in it. It is worth using this time to introduce the youngest to the secrets of environmental protection and ecology. One such way is to conduct ecological workshops that will allow children to learn how to take care of our planet. Aneta Szczechla, an ecomanager from the Kroczyce Commune, conducted a series of workshops on air pollution and smog-related problems in kindergartens in Kroczyce and Siamoszyce.

During the workshop, she raised the topic of air pollution as one of the biggest environmental problems of our time. Preschoolers also talked about difficult topics related to health and economic problems, as well as the negative impact on the quality of life of urban and rural residents.

One of the biggest problems related to air is smog. Smog is the air polluted with dust, gases, smoke and other substances harmful to health. It is most common in large cities, where the number of cars and factories exceeds the norm. Children exposed to smog are more susceptible to respiratory diseases and have an increased risk of asthma.

Introducing children to the subject of smog and air pollution is very important because it allows them to build pro-ecological attitudes from an early age.

During meetings, apart from conversations and discussions, children, under the supervision of an ecomanager , conducted experiments that helped them understand how important it is to take care of the air.

Balloon experiments, ecological coloring books, thematic games and competitions activated the youngest and stimulated reflection.

During the classes, it was noticeable that children are very aware and have a lot of knowledge about air pollution. They are also very happy to talk about smog-related topics. During the classes, the children learned what smog is and how it is formed, what harmful substances affect the air and what effects polluted air has on health and the environment. Children also learned what simple actions can help in the fight against smog and how to take care of the air.

Workshops in two kindergartens are part of a whole series of meetings in kindergartens of the Kroczyce Commune.
