On October 31 this year, a ceremonial graduation was held at the headquarters of the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship for the second round of postgraduate studies in Eco-Energy, organized as part of the "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored" project by the project partner – the Silesian University of Technology.

Graduates were welcomed by the Member of the Board of the Silesian Voivodeship, Rafał Adamczyk, who, together with representatives from the Silesian University of Technology – Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Ireneusz Szczygieł and Dr. Eng. Michał Chabiński – presented diplomas to the gathered participants. The ceremony was highlighted by a lecture from Prof. Szczygieł on environmental discourse.

A core activity of the "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored" project is the established network of eco-advisors in the municipalities of the Silesian Voivodeship, aimed at supporting residents in areas such as replacing outdated heating systems and improving the energy efficiency of buildings. Thanks to the work of eco-managers, the goals set in the "Air Protection Program for the Silesian Voivodeship" are being implemented more effectively. Equally important, the efforts of eco-managers focus on raising environmental awareness and fostering pro-ecological attitudes among all residents through their involvement in municipal events and educational and promotional activities for all age groups.

To support the professional development and skill enhancement of project-based eco-managers, the project partner – the Silesian University of Technology – organized two rounds of postgraduate studies under the name Eco-Energy. Over two years, 103 people involved in the "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored" project, including the project team employed at the Marshal's Office, were able to increase their competencies, thus more effectively implementing the project’s goals.

The program was tailored to the professional needs of the eco-managers, equipping graduates with competencies directly applicable to their work. Through a range of lectures and workshops, participants were able to explore new technologies and innovations in renewable energy sources, comprehensive thermal modernization, the future of low- and zero-emission transportation, sources of pollution in the region with the greatest impact on residents' health and well-being, advisory strategies for economically viable eco-investments, effective educational and informational campaigns in municipalities, and practical skills for comprehensive thermal modernization projects.

These studies not only provided specialist knowledge and skills but also created a unique platform for building relationships and sharing experiences among participants, helping the region move closer to achieving the "blue sky" envisioned in the project.
