The training was part of the official calendar of the 30th anniversary of the European Union's LIFE Program.
The Institute for Chemical Processing of Coal and the Silesian Voivodeship organized training in the field of monitoring compliance with the provisions of the anti-smog resolution and detecting illegal waste incineration in individual heating devices.
Edyta Misztal from Chemical Processing of Coal in Zabrze presented the topic of waste incineration and fuel control in terms of the requirements of the anti-smog resolution. The legal aspects of the control of furnaces carried out in terms of illegal waste incineration and violation of the provisions of the anti-smog resolution were discussed by Miłosz Jakubowski from the Frank Bold Foundation. The issue of distinguishing solid fuel boilers in terms of the requirements of the anti-smog resolution for the Silesian Voivodeship was dealt with by Katarzyna Matuszek from Chemical Processing of Coal, and Andrzej Ryś from the Municipal Police in Kraków shared the experience of controlling furnaces in practice.
The aim of the training was to increase the knowledge and competences of people responsible for the control of individual heating devices and enforcing compliance with the provisions of the anti-smog resolution. The training participants gained practical and substantive knowledge about fuels and boilers, various aspects of control and the duties of the controller, resulting from the provisions of the anti-smog resolution, as well as the act prohibiting the co-incineration and incineration of waste in home furnaces.
The training was part of the project "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored".
