Christmas Eco-Decorations at the School Anti-Smog Team in Żarnowiec
On December 15, 2023, a meeting took place with the School Anti-Smog Team "Young Ecologists" and Iwona Gębka, the eco-manager of the Żarnowiec Municipality. The children familiarized themselves with the LIFE project "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored," its goals, and scope of operation. It also served as the basis for discussions and organizing actions to create ecological Christmas decorations.
Students discussed the purpose of the initiative, which is to promote a conscious and ecological approach to Christmas, including the creation of decorations from environmentally friendly materials. The team analyzed various Christmas decoration projects that could be easily implemented using eco-friendly materials. Participants in the meeting also handcrafted their own eco-friendly Christmas decorations.
The meeting concluded with a readiness for collective involvement in the initiative. Members of the School Anti-Smog Team expressed hope that the initiative would contribute to greater ecological awareness during the holiday season.
At the end of the meeting, the children received small gifts, as well as posters and leaflets providing information about the project.
