2nd City Ecology Knowledge Olympiad in Jastrzębie-Zdrój

Seven secondary schools in Jastrzębie-Zdrój participated in the 2nd City Ecology Knowledge Olympiad in Jastrzębie-Zdrój 2023, organized by eco-manager Edyta Garlińska and the City of Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
The importance of ecology and air protection is well-known to almost everyone, but not everyone takes action to protect the environment. Therefore, it is crucial to raise ecological awareness among young people.
One of the goals of the Olympiad was to draw special attention to air protection. Not coincidentally, the Olympiad took place on November 14, Clean Air Day.
Students who participated in the competition demonstrated a broad knowledge of ecology. Teams representing individual schools had to complete a written test and answer oral questions, including those about low emissions, types of smog, and the city's actions to combat air pollution.
The students from School Complex No. 6 performed the best in the questions. The second place went to the students from School Complex No. 2, and the third place was awarded to the youth from School Complex for Children with DisabilitiesNo. 9 in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
The students who stood on the podium received valuable prizes for their schools. None of the participants left the City Hall building, where the competition took place, empty-handed. All participants received gifts from the City and the LIFE Program "Silesia. Blue Sky Restored".
